SWEDEN, August 21 - Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa is receiving Estonia’s Minister of Economy and Industry Erkki Keldo today, 21 August. The ministers’ discussions will include support to Ukraine and how the EU can enhance its competitiveness and resilience by entering into more free trade agreements.
During the meeting, the ministers will also discuss EU trade relations with the United States and China.
“Close Nordic-Baltic cooperation is more important than ever. Sweden and Estonia are strong proponents of more free trade agreements and an open, free and rules-based trading system. Sweden’s and Estonia’s support to Ukraine is unwavering. We’re cooperating closely to boost support to Ukraine – including its economy and trade – and to put greater pressure on Russia through measures such as sanctions and increased import tariffs,” says Mr Dousa.
Sweden has very close cooperation with Estonia and Mr Dousa met Mr Keldo for a bilateral meeting in February 2025.
