HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Railway Industrial Clearance Association (RICA) will exhibit at Breakbulk Americas 2026, September 22–23 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, bringing together the people and companies who help solve some of the nation’s most complex heavy and dimensional transportation challenges.

For more than 50 years, RICA has created a forum where professionals involved in the movement of heavy and dimensional cargo can share knowledge, resources and practical solutions. Today, the association is more than 400 members strong and growing.

RICA’s membership represents a unique cross-section of the transportation industry, including Class I and short-line railroads, shippers, ports, riggers, heavy-haul carriers, barge and steamship lines, expeditors and other specialized transportation professionals.

That mix of expertise is central to the organization. Members have the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen cooperation across the transportation chain and work collectively through the challenges that arise when planning and executing heavy and dimensional shipments.

“Some of the most complex cargo movements in our industry require expertise from multiple disciplines, and that is where RICA brings tremendous value,” said Grant Wattman, President of RICA. “We have an incredible depth of knowledge within our membership, and we want to continue growing that community — bringing new companies and the next generation of transportation professionals into the conversation.”

Education and knowledge-sharing remain an important part of RICA’s mission. The association provides an environment where experienced industry professionals can share lessons learned while newer members gain exposure to the technical, operational and logistical considerations involved in heavy and dimensional transportation. The organization’s focus on sharing ideas and resources to aid dimensional shipping is also reflected in its longstanding mission.

Breakbulk Americas provides an ideal opportunity to introduce that community to a broader project cargo audience. More than 6,000 industry professionals and 440 global shippers representing nearly 70 countries are expected to attend the 2026 event.

Current RICA members attending Breakbulk Americas are encouraged to stop by, reconnect and introduce colleagues who could benefit from becoming involved. Those who are new to RICA are invited to meet members, learn more about the association and discover opportunities to participate.
