Amelia Drive One-way Traffic Flow Piloting
Public feedback is being solicited to understand the public benefit and concerns with this change in traffic flow. During this piloting, please visit the project webpage, complete a survey, and participate in a public forum to share your thoughts. Your participation will help decision-makers determine if the pilot should continue.
Approval of the pilot is based on an evaluation and analysis of traffic data, turning movements, speed, and crash history, as well as community feedback. The change to a one-way traffic flow is intended to improve the overall safety of the corridor for all users. This approval is made with the understanding that users driving to properties along this section of the corridor may experience additional delays, and that it will relieve vehicle conflicts caused by the narrow roadway and on-street parking.
“This pilot program will help evaluate the community’s acceptance of a traffic flow change that more safely accommodates roadway users while preserving parking and minimizing property impacts to abutting property owners,” said Mike Burns, NP&EDC’s Transportation Program Manager. “Community input will be crucial in shaping long-term strategies for safe and accessible travel in this corridor.”
